The 4 step cold brew recipe I found & loveMom's Coffee
Here’s what’s cool about cold brew … and how to make it.
Honestly, I didn’t know the big difference between iced coffee and cold brew when I first heard about them a few years ago, but then I did a taste test.
Verdict? There is definitely a difference in taste.
Iced Coffee: Exactly what it sounds like
Iced coffee is just what it sounds like. Take coffee – make it cold. A simple classic!
The trick here is, don’t dilute the coffee when you make it cold. One great way to prevent watery iced coffee is to make some coffee ice cubes.
Put simply, the flavor is exactly what you expect. Bold & fruity with a bitter kick. It’s refreshing and perfect for a warm day.
Cold brew: Iced Coffee’s smooth sibling
Cold brew is not as quick and easy as iced coffee but the results are worth it. Unlike iced coffee, the brew often comes out very strong and you may need to dilute it or add ice cubes. But, there is a big difference in the taste.
Because cold brew coffee is never hot, the end result is less bitter and acidic than iced coffee.
I love the bitter bite of hot coffee but not so much when its cold, so I pretty much had an emotional experience with my first cold brew.
How to make cold brew coffee at home
Just like your grandma’s sun tea, the key to cold brew coffee is time. This caffeinated treat is perfect for preparing in batches.
I’ve tried many tips and tricks to make amazing cold brew, but, to be honest, my favorite cold brew recipe is not my own. I found it here on Taste of Home. I just had to share it with you too!
